Simple Science takes new, significant scientific publications and turns them into short, accurate explainers for people with no science background. We write for the general audience that is curious — someone who wants to know what was found and why it matters, without the worry of having a lack of context. No overly worded papers or press releases, just important science made simple by those that care.

Our promises

• Every article is written from the direct source — each article is written from the original publication, never a lightly reworded press release.
• Every article gets a confidence badge: early evidence, well-established, or preliminary. That way you know how much weight to put on it at a glance.
• Every article includes "how sure we should be," stated plainly and directly — including the study size, methods, and limitations.
• No hype words — some sites attempting to simplify research often use exciting words as clickbait. Science is science, we should be excited about all of it!
• 400–600 words, every time — scientific literature is long and dense; we want our audience to rely on a quick read that can be done in 3–5 minutes.
• If we get something wrong — a study is retracted, fails to replicate, or is contradicted later — we'll say so openly.
